Landscape paperbacks

We wanted to create paperback editions of two of our square format illustrated titles, The Meaning of Birds and The Wisdom of Trees, and thought putting them into a loose ‘series’ look could help give cohesion to the publishing.

I looked at various options and we settled on designs that would use a single colour + foil to create a warm and elegant design. Following the success of these new paperbacks, a range of other titles (all featuring personal writing about the landscape) were chosen to follow this series look in paperback. Ben Prior brilliantly extended the design concept with more illustrated landscapes, keeping the sense of simplicity with clean lines, a single colour and foil.
