Anniversary Anthologies

For Head of Zeus’s tenth anniversary we wanted to make something that celebrated a decade of publishing, and I was asked to re-cover a selection of our anthologies in a new flexiback format. I wanted to celebrate designers and artists we had worked with across the ten years of Head of Zeus, so for the ten books I commissioned a range of new art from designers who had helped define the look of HoZ books. We also re-formated some of the original artwork.

All the covers use a limited colour palette and explore the idea of multiplicity, hinting at the treasure-trove of stories within. The type + layout design needed to work for both cosier and bolder titles, so I kept things simple and legible while letting the artwork shine. Each cover uses a single foil on the front, back & spine, and has 4-colour printed endpapers pulling out a detail from the cover design.
